The VEX robot can't read that there is a RC Reciever

The VEX robot can't read that there is a RC Reciever

I started out with a brand new VEX robot, I plugged in the RC Reciever and turned on the power for the VEX and the RC transmittion, the power in the battery was good and the Rx1 lamp blinking.
I download the master firmware and the firmware, the master firmware first.
Restarted the VEX robot and downloaded my program.


	Code: int fail; //the fail part is a thing I added to debug the RC int fail2; int fail3; task main() { while(vexRT[Ch5]==0) { motor[port2] = vexRT[Ch1]; motor[port3] = vexRT[Ch3]; fail= vexRT[Ch1]; fail2= vexRT[Ch2]; fail3= vexRT[Ch6]; } }

Now the Rx1 or 2 ports isn't working.
I'm using version 1.40 (well if you go to the help, about it says 1.08)

Did you turn the power off and on to the robot after downloading?
Are you sure the motors are in ports 2 and 3?
Are you using crystals or a tether between the robot and the transmitter?

I'd recommend replacing the:

while(vexRT[Ch5]==0)

with while(1==1) to be sure your continuously reading the transmitter.

We have restarted the VEX robot many times.
We are using crystals (they are the same(89 and 89))
We have also tried via wire to the RC controller.

You need this command:

bVexAutonomousMode = false; //Activates Remote Control Mode

before your loop.

There should be some examples in the sample programs to try. There definitely is in version 1.94. See sample programs/VEX/Radio Control Transmitter/Single Joystick Control.
