
Hi guys, I've been thinking of creating a UGV (unmanned ground vehicle) with the Lego Mindstorm NXT kit for some time now.
I've been looking at the Packbot (pic above). Gonna need some advice here. One of Packbot's main feature is its ability to flip itself over when its upside-down. Of course with the current array of sensors available for the NXT, this would not be a problem. The problem is designing the flipper that works exactly like the real life version of Packbot.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to implement this? The problem here is that the axle connecting to the flipper's gears cannot be joined to the gears that are running the main tank tracks.
