Post Line tracking using the Color (Grayscale) Sensor
I have used the sample program line tracking program for the color sensor in grayscale mode for a few different VEX IQ clawbots in our class and have not had much success. The color sensor light does activate, but it does not detect any difference in brightness, and thus has not been able to track lines. I have tried entering a variety of thresholds (200-2000) and have made different colored lines (made out of masking tape) that I have colored with blue and black pens and still the color sensor does not recognize a difference. I also have made sure the color sensors' firmware have been updated to the latest version.

I would appreciate any information on how to successfully line track using the VEX IQ clawbot and its color sensor.

It all depends on what tip of board you are using. In my class we use a completely white board with any dark colored tape. When we do this we found that it worked the best because the sensor could tell the difference between the two. Hope this helps you out and I hope that it works.
