 Introduce Yourself!
This is a place to put information about yourself. We want to know when you got interested in robotics, when you first got ROBOTC, how you learned about it, why you chose it, previous programming experience, your hobbies, and etc. Please DO NOT give personal information for your own sake. Edit your first post if you want to give more info (try not to double-post). Finally, don't show your workspace here; rather, post that in the "where do you build?" forum.
I learned about ROBOTC on a wiki about different NXT languages and heard it got the best reviews. Before it I had NXT-G. I had a tiny bit of python experience, but have forgotten almost everything about it. I enjoy building and programming(duh), problem solving, math, chess, and modern physics.

 Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hi, I'm computer science student and used to be mechatronics student. Before this i'm only focus on build robot part then coding one. so i'm only know how to use assembly language only. Now i'm a computer science student (major in AI) and learn new high level language but still not expert yet cause i jump years student so some basic language i'm still not so strong . Because of my major is AI and my previous study is Mechatronics, so i'm interested to build intelligence robot. On my second year my lecture introduce me with NXT Mindstroms that the first time in my life build it normaly i used old fashion way to build robot . So for my FYP i try to further my knowledge and skill by using Tetrix + NXT mindtroms . You guys can check my project in Project Discussion Forum, i really grateful if you guys can guide me a little bit cause i'm still new in this area

 Re: Introduce Yourself!
I started to learn about robotics because my neighbor drafted me to mentor the FIRST robotics team of his kids' high school. FTC has the options of using either RobotC or LabView. I do not like graphical programming language, so choosing RobotC was an obvious choice. I learned about it by just playing with it and discovering it not really standard ANSI C. It is sorta C with some C++ extensions and got frustrated at times because you can never assume something works in standard C would work in RobotC. Thanks to the patience of the RobotC development team, they do listen to the users, RobotC has gotten a lot better with recent versions. I am having a ton of fun playing with the NXT. The last piece of code I wrote for the NXT was a generic music note parser that parses the music scores in text form and can play music on the NXT in a multi-tasking environment (i.e. playing music in the background while the robot is doing other things). My programming experience is mainly operating system, kernel stuff. I also have some experience in writing compilers. That's why I took an interest in the progress of the RobotC development.

 Re: Introduce Yourself!
I'm a 14 year-old student, going into high-school ( ) this year. I self-taught myself RobotC when I was 11, and shortly after started asking questions, as well as helping other users here. I'm now learning some other programming languages, and electronic theory, but I have a pretty bad procrastination problem. So, sometimes things just don't get done... But I try to work through it. I usually work with the LEGO NXT platform, but I also work with the RCX and occasionally microcontrollers.
