Post Friday's NXT class
Sorry about the microphone at the beginning of class today. Anyways, we didn't get to PID today, we spent some time talking about functions, variables and line following. We can still talk about PID line following in Friday. What else would you like to talk about on Friday?

I understand from Wednesday class that the RVW does not handle the nMotorEncoder command. However, I have the clawbot kit and it comes with the Integrated Encoder motors. Could you please discuss how one would use this command in determining how far the Robot has moved. More important, what is the math to use in computing distances. I understand the Optical Shaft Encoder math but it is not the same. That I know.

Sorry you missed class. Here is the link for the future classes: https://roboticsacademy.webex.com/mw0307l/mywebex/default.do?siteurl=roboticsacademy

I just posted the class from today so you can watch it at your convenience.

If you're worried about losing the link, and if you have a twitter account, you can follow ROBOTC on twitter. The link is always tweeted out before the classes begin.

Hi Ronald. The clawbot is a VEX robot, so your probably not going to get your answers in this thread. Could you make a new topic and ask your question? That way, one of the VEX guys can help you. Thanks,

I was wondering if we could have a bit on remote control?
Or we could save it if PID takes up too much time.
I was wondering if you can use remote control to have the code say when i press "w" on the key board,
the robot moves forward is this possible?

Yeah, towards the end of the class there is a section on remote controls. We can cover that material. If not Friday, as you said if we run out of time, then next week.

the Download link to today's class (Wednesday July 26th) streams video instead of downloading the .arf file for offline viewing. Can you fix? Page URL is http://learn.cs2n.org/course/view.php?id=89

Could you run through an example of the "switch" control structure.
