Light sensor vs color sensor for following a line?
I have a color sensor and a light sensor that I can use. Which would be better to use to follow the white line for autonomous mode? Thanks for your help.

Re: Light sensor vs color sensor for following a line?
Generally, if you are going with a black/white line and background the line follower will suffice and may be a bit easier to use. However, if you have multiple colors on the ground that you want the robot to react to in different ways, then the color sensor will probably net you better results. Are there any other lines or colors (besides black and white) on the floor that the robot might pick up on?

Nope just the ftc ring it up white line on a black background. I have a color sensor currently on the robot, I was just wondering if the light sensor was better or worse.

It's about the same for the purpose of line following. I've made ones with both and they perform pretty similarly.

Although, I would use a color sensor, as it provides more functionality, and you never know--someday you might want to follow the colored lines down the center of the field
