The robot seems to run fine and then suddenly it won't respond to a couple of taps and then take off on the third tap. There don't seem to be any power glitches that we have been able to find and the controllers seem to be working fine.

Could this be flaw in the Samantha module? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This sounds like a connectivity issue; test the program with a connection over USB and see if the problem persists. It may also be something in your code. Would you mind posting what you have?
