Sounds like a home work assignment to me.

That doesn't look too bad. A kalman filter and an A* for the second. I would think the first is pretty trivial. What is the context? You said NXT but what size is the actual surface? What sensors? A GPS outdoors might make it real simple. Heck for $1000 I'd do his homework. If its not homework and someone offered him $5000 for it I'd feel dumb

Seeing as this needs to be done in 5 days, I highly doubt you'll find someone who can do the whole thing that quickly. Looks like you waited a little too long with it.

It's on an A0 sheet of paper
if I don't get anyone who can do this in 5 days for $1000, I might be able to up the price...
even if you think you can just done one of the two challenges, this will be good enough

If anyone wants to put in an offer for challenge 2 only, which is the easier challenge please contact me via my e-mail address or post your offer on this board.

Re: $1000 to anyone that can program these challenges!! :)
Though this doesn't look trivial, a 1000 dollars seems like a lot. Even if you do intend to pay, there are some things you need to clear up first. If this is indeed homework, you can face charges of plagiarism, which I'm sure no one wants to have anything to do with.In addition, if this is for college, You can definitely get kicked out for something like this. Please elaborate on the exact circumstances that you want this for, and someone might help you.

Does it need to be an official lego light sensor? or can it be any light sensor that isn't a camera (like custom sensors made with photo-transistors or photo-resistors)?

Are there any programming limitations (such as programming language)?

Does this need to be done on a printed a0 sheet of paper? Does the size need to be the same (33.1 × 46.8 in)? Does it need to be exactly the same, as far as the shapes, distance between, etc.? If so, can you provide a high resolution picture of it?
Are you only looking for a program, or do you want a video of a robot actually doing it?

Re: $1000 to anyone that can program these challenges!! :)
I have no interest of doing it but FWIW if you use our FTC library, it could be done in a day (at least for the first challenge). The library has a generic line follower which allows you to: 1) go forward until you hit a line; 2) follow the line until an end pattern is detected. You can make 4 calls to the line follower, one for each island and add the necessary code in between to hop from island to island.

a leggo light sensor
"Does this need to be done on a printed a0 sheet of paper? Does the size need to be the same (33.1 × 46.8 in)? Does it need to be exactly the same, as far as the shapes, distance between, etc.? If so, can you provide a high resolution picture of it?

we need the program completed on an A0 sheet of paper, it will be very similar to the picture shown, except it will be on an A0 laminated piece of paper.
the shapes can be slightly different, it will be a surprise on the day, we need it to be able to perform this for any similar type of arena
"Are there any programming limitations (such as programming language)?"
Must be programmed in RobotC on a NXT platform.
If you need more info please contact me via e-mail!

we are going to do challenge 3 ourselves as we have developed an algorithm for this now and only need to code it and test it.
so please offers on challenge 2
