Post Natural Language
New to RobotC. I have a couple of questions.
1. Yesterday I used the newest version update link for 3.0. Now when I look at my "Manage License" link it says I have 29 days on a trial license left. Am I going to have to pay for a new license or will my old license activate the update?
2. The reason I hit the update was to try to configure my software to recognize Natural Language. I can compile and run programs when my platform is set to Vex Cortex2 but whenever I change the platform to Natural Language Vex Pic I can't get a connection between my computer and my cortex. I thought I downloaded the Vex Cortex 32bit driver but still no connection in Natural Language platform.

I would really prefer to program in Natural Language. What am I doing wrong?

OK ... i think I fixed the communication problem by selecting Natural Language Vex Cortex instead of Vex Pic. Any other configuration suggestions?
Still wondering about the update licensing thing. I don't want to have to pay for the update right now. If that is the case, can I use the Config button on the cortex to flash 3 and go back to my previous version? How can you tell what version I am running? All I see right now is the Manage Licenses link under Help.

Looking back at my posts now ... I realize these are all newb questions. Sorry to spam the forum.
I did have fun today. Once I got everything configured correctly I had a test bed screaming.
Can't wait to go to school and show my kids how to build and program a test bed. I suppose while I'm up there
I will try to activate the RobotC update with my building license.
I guess you're all laughing now.

Nah, we're not laughing. A new programming environment always takes a bit of time to get used to.

As for the screaming, well, I would suggest a gag.

What kind of license do you have? Is it for 2.x or 3.x?

I don't know which license I have. I just finished talking to my tech lady and asked her to look into it.
The coming week will be action packed.

You can find instructions for installing your building license here: http://www.robotc.net/support/building-license/

Thanks.
I ran a support ticket with the RobotC guys and got the exact information I needed.
Got the tech guys in and updated my software to v.3.5 and connection problems are gone.
