Re: ATTENTION: Have a cool ROBOTC Project? Show it off!!
Xander, you are impossible to please, Actually, I can take no credit at all for figuring out the extremely complicated math. I had been talking to a guy who created an OUTSTANDING tutorial on the calculations. He even published the code in RobotC. I didn't have to change a thing except the dimensions of my robot. http://forums.trossenrobotics.com/tutor ... tics-3276/I can certainly post the code for the whole robot, although it's pretty long and in several files. I'll be happy to send them to your email address if you like. Chris

Re: ATTENTION: Have a cool ROBOTC Project? Show it off!!
Here is a video of a Vex LED screen that I built. It was built with 30 Vex LEDs and controlled by two PICs. However, one of the PICs broke, and the left hand side of the screen does not work. If I ever get around to fixing it, I will post another video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSSlH8WBz8g

Looks like a fun project Just a few questions so I can write up a post: - What PIC did you use?
- Why PIC?
- What resources did you use to figure out the coding with the PIC?
- You have some code you can share?
- Do you have a picture of the board front and back?
- What are your plans looking ahead with the project?

Re: ATTENTION: Have a cool ROBOTC Project? Show it off!!
Sorry, I should have been more specific. When I said PIC, I meant the VEX Microcontroller V0.5. I used 2 of them interfaced together, as each has 16 digital output ports that I could use. I had 30 LEDs, so that is 15 ports each for LEDs, and one on each for intercommunication. The cortex has only 12 digital ports on it, and my robotics team was using it on the robot (this was done the day before worlds, so I couldn't really use it). I didn't really use any resources tofigure out the programming (which was in ROBOTC of course), I just reasoned it out. I'm sorry to say that I do not have the code anymore , it was on one of the laptop that we brought to worlds and it was reformatted. I don't have pictures of the project, but I could take some and upload them. If I can find another microcontroller, I may finish the LED screen.

This is my new robot: The Mars Rover NXT/VEX Hybrid with Rocker-Bogie suspension. Both the robot and the joystick were controlled by NXT bricks and RobotC. The Robot uses 6 regular motors, 6 servos, a VEX Camera, and a set of Vex Lights. The video is available at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Vv0Zb9I6sAhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrGTG8O98f8If you like it or want details for the robot and remote control, please leave a comment at Youtube. New videos will be posted this week. Thank you!!! Regards, Francisco E. Alves

Awesome. That project looks intense! I really like the research, photos, and video you put together. I'll add it to the blog asap.

This is my inspiration for my next project, but it is still very early, I am not sure I can do it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jyBiECoS3Q

That would be pretty intense. It's actually a little bit freaky how realistic the movements are.
