I took part in the last webinar with others from alabama for the BEST "great-freight-challenge". I have a question regarding the initial set-up of the cortex and downloading the firmware for the first time onto the cortex itself. After going to the video training cd and viewing the part about downloading the latest master firmware from ROBOTC.net (my computer) to the cortex on the robot, the downloading of master CPU finished but it was stopped and another error message read, "the master CPU finished downloading. Now you must finish the user CPU download. Then later in step 4, establishing a VEXnet link the robot light on the cortex is green and blinking slowly as if the master CPU firmware has not been properly loaded onto the cortex from my computer. Confused. Need help. Thanks.

I just went through all of this with mine. Get the latest software 2.31.

Download the master CPU firmware to the bot.

Download the RobotC firmware to the bot.

Plug the bot into the controller using a cable. Turn the bot on to "marry them."

Download the CONTROLLER firmware to the controller.

This is what worked for us....if I got it wrong, someone will jump in I'm sure.
