I've been wishing for something like this for quite a while. Thank you Carnegie Mellon!

Looks great!! I currently teach Robot C to 8th graders (using the teaching robot c curriculum) but I can see pushing that down to grade 7 and doing this in grade 8.

Re: Click here to read about the upcoming release of Planet H99
I like it. Very interesting. Graphically, it is very well made. Some features need to change though. 1) This may just be Beta stuff, but when you restart it, you have to go through all the crap to get back to where you should be to start. In order to fix this, the restart button needs to bring you back to "start" on the map, not the main menu. Or, when you recompile the code, it should go back to start. 2) You should be able to maximize the screen. It's a tiny window. 3) You should be able to use the mouse to rotate. 4) For advanced programming, it would be nice to know the details about the robot. Things like the diameter of the wheels, encoder res., etc. 5) Mute button. As nice as the sounds are, they do get old. It would be nice to have a mute button. 6) It would be cool to know how to build the robots that you're working with. I propose a window that shows you how to build the actual robot.
Overall, this is a very awesome project. I have been waiting for a similar one for a while. I use Player/Stage for simulation of real robots. Because of the lack of NXT support, I am very glad to see that there is a simulator for NXT now. Well done Carnegie Mellon.

SpicecreamMan already stated most of the things that I would like to see. This is a really great project, and I can't wait for the missions to come out. Is loading external robot models a possibility in the near future?

Here's a quick fix: press <alt>+<enter> It makes the robot window go full-screen. Andrew

Re: Click here to read about the upcoming release of Planet H99
Thanks for the feedback, guys!
Just curious: I was wondering why you were full screen'ing the window. I can imagine lots of reasons but I'd like to know what your thoughts were.
- the window was too small, and I couldn't see anything - I have two monitors and want to use one for the virtual world and the other for ROBOTC - I just like full screen applications. - ???
Let me know!

I make the window full screen to display my project. The small window size is great for debugging a program (I can see the debug windows in the background), but it's easier to see the world when it's full screen.

 resizing the window.
Hi Andrew you told us how to make the screen larger when you wrote
Here's a quick fix: press <alt>+<enter> It makes the robot window go full-screen.
How do you make it small again?

This look great and will be a tremendous teaching tool. My high school students do a great job with RobotC, but my middle school students seem to struggle more until they can actually see their program in action. H99 will allow them to visualize their program at home on their own instead of having to wait until our team meetings.
I can't wait to explore more!

It would be nice if you could use a joystick Like in FTC....just a thought...

I like it. Very interesting. Some features need to change though. I am trying to use this in a science project 1/is it possible to get more resources memory sensors 2/i shod like to run multiple of robots in the same environment even communicate between robots 3/get positions data 4/control start position via program (control program controlling start of multiple robots) 5/collision detect 6/file communication 7/...
or any function in trying to build robot intelligence -Fredrik Öberg

Re: Click here to read about the upcoming release of Planet H99
This is so amazing for the world of robotics! Thank you all for this! I would like though for everyone to think of the worldwide applications for Planet H99. The more perople that know how to program in RobotC the more people are going to know about FIRST BEST MicroMouse and all sorts of other robotics competitions! And then the more people that compete then the larger the field of robotics will grow! This is REALLY a great thing you all are doing! Not just for us nerds but for the world! Lota typing haha.
