Post Robot C 2.02 Hang Up After Compile
Hello,

I wanted to report a problem I'm having with RobotC V2.02. I am still in the evaluation period, however I want to make sure this software will work smoothly on my PC before I commit to buying the program.

Here's the problem...

Every so often (1/4 times) when I compile my code and get an actual error message, RobotC hangs up such that I can't edit the code. Interesting, I can close my active code window (getting me to the "Want to save?" prompt) but I can't edit the code or use any of the buttons on the top menu bar.

I am running....
-Dell Mini 9 / Inspiron 1101
-Intel Atom N270 Processor @ 1.60 Ghz / 1 Gig RAM
-Windows XP

Anyone else have this issue? Any moderators have a solution?

Thanks,

DG

Xander,

Attached is the code I'm running - I realize it has a number of compile warnings, however I didn't think a warning would lock up the system. Hopefully you're able to isolate what's wrong.

Thanks,

Daniel

ROBOTC can't compile your program because there are some real errors in there that need to be addressed first:
  • Missing ";" on a few lines
  • variables that have been misspelled
  • kSc8Port doesn't seem to be defined (I don't have that library though)
Fix these first until you have little or no warnings left.

ROBOTC didn't hang on my computer trying to compile this, but I also don't have that -lib.c file. I have written a driver for the NXTServo and it's part of my driver suite. It may be a little more friendly to use. You can the suite here: [LINK]. The driver you want to look at is called "NXTServo" and comes with an example program, too (NXTServo-test1.c). You can take a look at the documentation here: [LINK]

Regards,
Xander
