The scoring/field for the CS2N FTC Ring it Up! challenge is different than the official FTC Ring it Up! field. I am able to use a logitech joystick to control the robot in the official FTC field, but I am not able to use it on the challenge field. I want to test out the most effective routes and ring placements.

I was wondering if next release could have an option to use the challenge field without it being officially scored and with joystick use allowed.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Joe,
We debated different ways of doing this, and we may not have found the best solution for this release, but if you open the .rbc files included with the sample code for Ring It Up (Sample Programs\VirtualWorlds\NXT\Ring It Up Sample Code), they will launch the virtual world with the joysticks enabled but score submission disabled (if you already have the virtual world open, make sure to close it first). We include .rbc files for both Gripperbot and Scissorbot.

Best,
--Ryan

Ok, thanks. Is there a way to use my own controls? I have them programmed already. Maybe I could overwrite it's task main(){ /* everything inside */ } with mine (as long as the motor names are the same)?

You can do that, or just Compile and Download your program after the virtual world is launched. The joystick mode will persist until the virtual world is restarted, even if a different ROBOTC program is loaded.
