How do you do it? I connected the joystick to my pc and configured it. It isn't recognized.

You need to write a ROBOTC remote control program. See this PDF for detailed instructions.

If you aren't using a Logitech F310, see the instuctions on custom joystick controls, or this blog post.

Thanks Ryan
I opened the sample program - two joystick drive for VEX. I can compile and download. I connected the VEX joystick to my pc, turn it on and select configure joysticks. The controller configuration utility opens but does not see my VEX joystick. What to do? Also, shouldn't this twojoystick program be enough to participate in the Remote Control activities in the curriculum campanion?

Hi Bob,
Ah ok I understand now.

The VEX joysticks can only be used with the VEX robot hardware; they don't work with RVW. You'll have to get a standard PC joystick or gamepad (the Logitech F310 is the one we recommend).

Also note that the RVW joysticks don't use vexRT; you have to use the programming interface outlined in the PDF I linked.

Best,
--Ryan

Got it Ryan - thanks. A suggestion for the Robotics Academy teacher's workshops - when introducing RVW, inform participants who are using VEX Cortex kits of this.
