Does somebody have a very basic Gyroscope code that can be used to turn a robot 90 degrees.
I know there are all sorts of issues with drift that can be addressed later, but I would like to play
around with the basic functions of the gyroscope to have it turn a specific set of degrees.

Unfortunately, the gyro only gives you the rate of turning (angular velocity) not the heading. So you must integrate the turn rate into heading before you can use it to keep track of how much you have turned. It's probably not basic code, but the following thread has detail description on one way to use gyro to turn accurately.
