 problems with motors
Ok. I need help!! I have two geared drive motor and when I run a sample drive program, the motors don't work right. What happens is that if i move the joysticks a little bit, or not even at all, the motors start moving, and they don't stop. It goes in wild directions and doesn't stop until I refresh the joysticks. Why is this happening?? I need help urgently.
Thanks

 Re: problems with motors
Sounds like you have PID enabled on these motors. You don't want PID on joystick-controlled motors as it'll cause odd behaviors.
Also, do a search for "deadzone" on the fourms to alleviate the not-stopping motors.

 Re: problems with motors
Hi,
I'm trying to connect four motors (interactive servo motors) to my NXT brick, but there's only 3 ports for motors...I'd like to avoid using two bricks--it's too heavy. I've been told that I could use two bricks connected via bluetooth, or maybe use a third party multiplexer...any suggestions?
Cheers, Melanie

 Re: problems with motors
I'm confused as to why the forum topic you sent me to is on joystick calibration...am I really missing something? Thanks for your time, though--I appreciate it.

 Re: problems with motors
If your problem has nothing to do with controlling motors with a joystick, then why did you post in this thread? Please create your own if it is nothing like the problem in the original post. What you're doing is thread hijacking and it's frowned upon.
Emil gave you help based on the original problem; controlling motors with a joystick.
Regards, Xander
