Does anybody work in a high school FTC environment. Blue tooth will find NXT but will not successfully pair without adminstrative rights from school. Anybody have this problem. Has anybody had this problem?

 Re: school and bluetooth
yes, as team 3216 we do work in a school environment.
However, we were able to make a deal with our tech center to loan us a teacher's laptop, on the condition that the teacher log it in when we desire to use it. Otherwise, you would need to bring in a laptop from home. Also, one thing we found out we needed to do was disable the internal bluetooth, if applicable, because otherwise the driver would not install correctly (running windows XP on dell latitude D620)
Sorry I can't help more, eagle

 Re: school and bluetooth
Thanks, But, we do everything correct. We pair each robot, then when we select the bot we want to run program it reads "cannot connect to NXT". We have XP professional.

 Re: school and bluetooth
It sounds like you may be using a driver for the Bluetooth (BT) adapter that isn't compatible. Not all is lost however.
We need a little more info to help you out: 1. Double check the version of RobotC. In RobotC, Help, About, near the bottom 1.46, 760 2. Make/Model of your BT adapter 3. Make/Model of your Laptop 4. Version and Service Pack of Windows. In XP - Start, Control Panel, System - OS Verison and Service Pack level 5. Which BT Driver you are using. This one is a bit tricky. -- Start, Control Panel, System, Hardware Tab, Device Manager Button -- If the BT adapter is plugged in you should see an entry near the top called Bluetooth Radio -- Expand (+) that node. You should see Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator listed. If not, then this maybe the culprit. Either way list everything that is in this node.
Post back with this info. If you have a D-Link DBT-120 Bluetooth adapter we have found a way to get the proper drivers loaded in the machine and can help.
