Post Getting NXTCamView working with NXTCam-v3
I am trying to get NXTCamView Working. I have installed NXTCam_v3p0. I am trying to follow the instructions on this page: http://nxtcamview.sourceforge.net/ On step 2 I am not sure where to get the drivers called for (USB-to-Serial and NXTCam) unless they are in NXTCam_v3p0. On step 4, trying to set the com port, the drop down box has only the option of "none." How do I set up the com port and connect to the NXTCam? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you download the drivers from: [LINK]? The .zip is the one you want. When you plugin the camera, it will try to search for the driver and fail to do so. Then you'll be offered to supply your own driver, so you point to the directory where you unzipped that file you just donwloaded and then wait a few minutes.
Make a note of the COM port it assigned to the camera and configure this in your NXTCam application.

Yes I did get get the drivers from the page you linked to. My computer did not respond the way it is supposed to when I plugged in the camera but I did manage to get the driver installed (at least I think I did, any way to check?) I did not notice it assigning a com port. Is there a file I can find this in after the installation? The drop down list for the com port still says "none" as its only selection.

Okay, reinstalled driver software and found the port was com3. Everything works fine now. Thanks very much for your help. On to programming :D
