Wonder if there are people out there have experienced in the difference between HiTechnic vs Mindsensors, especially on the accelerometer, compass, and IR.

like you I'm wondering about the performance of both types:

from what I read from both website about the accelerometer:

mindsensor : Supported sensitivities: (+/-) 2.5G, 3.3G, 6.7G, 10.0G
HiTechnic : measured in the range of –2g to +2g

at least from this I would go for the mindsensor since it has configurable sensitivity.

any thought from usage and performance point of view

I don't know about the Mindsensor one but I own an HT one and it's great, very responsive, gives me really fast readings

What I did think about before buying it was that the Mindsensor one was less expensive and looked like it had more features, I was like "there must be something bad hidden in it" and I then got the HT one

I own both and they work equally fine. The range feature on the Mindsensors one is a little superfluous since you'd usually put it in the biggest range anyway.

Both sensors are supported by the built in drivers. For additional features, you could use the 3rd Party Driver Suite.
