Well, the title says it all. Is is possible to connect a mouse to a sensor port?

Why? Because a modern mouse is vey accurate in detecting (small) movements. Fore example, it could be used to improve robots that rely on dead reckoning to calculate their position.

Hmm that is an interesting Idea.

The question is does the mouse output an analog or digital signal. It its analog your good to go If you know what wire does what, you may be able to hook it to a NXT. I think thou they all use a digital signal and you would have to convert that type of signal to analog or to I2C so the nxt can read it. Try looking around on the web at people who have taken apart or hacked a mouse and see what they did to see what type of signal a mouse uses.

I did some searching. The only thing I could find was something that enables you to convert an I2C signal/port to a USB signal/port. I didn't find anything that does it the other way around.
