Hello,i am new in robotics and i have a mobile robot:
Diameter: 70 mm
Height: 50 mm
Weight: 200 g
Max speed: 13 cm/s
Autonomy: 2 hours moving
dsPIC 30 CPU @ 30 MHz (15 MIPS)
8 KB RAM
144 KB Flash
2 step motors
8 infrared proximity and light (TCRT1000)
color camera, 640x480
8 LEDs in ring + one body LED + one front LED
3D accelerometers
3 microphones
1 loudspeaker


And i need a program that give me the position of my robot and ai don't know how to start and with which methode it's better and which method has fewer errors because my robot have to know it's position on a table...pleaaaasssseee help me!

Is this a robot you're using in college? This sounds like you need someone to help you with your home work. This spec looks very familiar to something someone else came to this forum about not that long ago.
What have you tried so far? Has your teacher given you any hints or help?

It's a graduation thesis of a friend of mine.He already tried triangularization methode...but it didn't word because it had some big errors.I'm trying to help him.,so nobody helped us with indications.But I read several documents about detecting the position of a mobile robot and i found some methodes like LANDMARK NAVIGATION METHODE...but i don't know how to start

It will be quite a bit more reading I'm afraid.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simultaneo ... nd_mapping - the obvious starting point.

http://www.ros.org/wiki/ - describes probably the most robust out of the box collection of programs. Your robot may or may not be in the supported list.

http://openslam.org/ - has many working algorithms for 'localization', ie finding out where you are.

There are many things you need to organize; what type of programming do you already know? If none, that is the first place to start, learn to program. You must figure out what works on your robot. With 'no idea how to start' I expect it would be a 4-5 year process to accumulate all the needed skills; programming of microcomputers, math in trigonometry and probability. For me, I had a very good understanding of what was needed, and all of the prerequisite skills, and I've been at it for 2 years.
