 XBEE
I just purchased and received a couple of XBEE devices.
After some digging, I think i put what I needed together, however, I still am unable to get any communications. (I did also update both radios to the latest firmware)
I purchased a Dexter NXTBee - which came with a radio, and an NXT Explorer dongle adapter for the PC that also came with a radio.
I'm not sure the two are compatible though.
The PC side is listed as a XB24-DM (digimesh?) Using X-CTU it does not have an option to change anything like a PAN-ID. The NXT side is listed as a XB24. It has io7 already set to rs-485 (which the instructions on dexter's site say you need to do, but I guess they are just doing it for you ahead of time now).
Is there anyway to have a 24DM communicate with a plain 24, or do I need to order another radio? And if so, which radio would I order? why would I not want DM? (except I see very little talk about it on the web)
Mike

Cool. I wish I had some NXTBees, but there's no way I could afford to get them. It's really too bad you can't legally get a job until your 16.

<soapbox>I suspect it is more because businesses, who are at all time record profits, want to appear as though they can't afford new workers, when the truth is they have just discovered the threat of no job means they can work people twice as hard for the same or lower pay.</soapbox> There is no age restriction for writing a book that I know of.
