Re: RobotC v. 3.54 will not allow cortex to run unteathered
When we see this problem, it is usually because the VEX Cortex Communication Mode is set to 'VEXNet or USB' or 'Competition (VEXNet)' instead of 'USB Only'. To solve this issue, navigate to the VEX Cortex Communication Mode menu (under the Robot menu inside of ROBOTC) and change the selection to 'USB Only'.
You will then need to download a program to the robot (over USB) and power cycle the Cortex (turn the robot off, unplug the battery, and remove the USB cable; then plug the battery back in and turn the robot back on).
You will need to do this for each Cortex that is effected by the mode change. This process is also outlined in our 'Cortex Setup Guide' on our wiki, under Step 4: Setting Cortex Communication Mode.
