Code 10 for the VEX Cortex comm port driver
After using RobotC since last April on this laptop, suddenly I cannot communicate with the VEX Cortex version 3.04. In DEvice Manager, I'm getting a Code 10 Device Cannot Start.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled teh driver 3 times, so I know it's not that.
I'm using Comm Port 16, and I'm getting the little yellow ! sign.
I have tried different usb cables to no avail.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Re: Code 10 for the VEX Cortex comm port driver
Code 10 in device manager means the driver failed to start. Unfortunately, there could be many reasons why the driver failed to start. If a driver is properly written, it should write an event log entry to the system event log to explain what has failed. But it's up to the driver writer to do this or not. You can check the system event log by clicking start, right click "Computer", select "Manage", click "Event Viewer" on the left pane, click "Windows Logs", "System" and look for any red X failures that are related to the failing driver.

Re: Code 10 for the VEX Cortex comm port driver
I got it to work by choosing "Automatic Selection" under Detailed Preferences when I loaded the firmware.
Thanks.
