What do the motor power values mean exactly?

Post subject:  What do the motor power values mean exactly?

When, for example, the power value is set to +78 out of +127, what does that mean? Is it 78/127 (61% power)? Or something else?

I'm asking to be able to calculate the RPM values of lower motor powers.

Yup the motor values are power values. One thing to keep in mind is that motors in general have a linear relationship between voltage and speed as seen here.

Here is an empirically tested graph of the vex 393 motors that might be useful in understanding the true relationship. This is under no load.
