Post subject:  VEXnet connection issues

We have what I am sure is a simple problem but just haven't looked at the right website.
The game and VEXnet LED's double blink red on both the cortex and the controller using the new keys.
We have:
downloaded recent firmware to both
calibrated the controller
Checked to see if have remote control over robot when tethered with USB cable and we do

What next?

Help

Please follow the steps outlined on the 'Getting Started with the VEX Cortex - VEXNet' and let us know which step, if any, the process fails on with as much detailed information as possible. Make special note of Step 5: Updating the VEXNet 2.0 key firmware.

Thank you in advance!

Hi there. We are panicking here. We are going to a qualifying competition tomorrow in Mississauga. We've just updated firmware on our Cortex, VexNet Joystick as well as our VexNet 2.0 white keys. The joystick now no longer controls the robot via a USB Cable! All lights on the Cortex and the Joystick are green as normal (good communication) but the robot remains silent. We've consulted the webpage you suggested ('Getting Started with the VEX Cortex - VEXNet') and found no issues.

It is probably something we overlooked... Can you provide suggestions?

Thank you!

Double check that the Cortex and Joystick Controller are paired via USB A-to-A cable, and that the 'Robot -> VEX Cortex Communication Mode' is set to 'Competition (VEXNet)', a program is downloaded to the Cortex, and the Cortex is power cycled.

Then, test the program using either a Competition Switch (recommended) or the built-in Competition Control debugger window (under the 'Robot -> Debugger Windows -> Competition Control' menu option).

Competition Control Debugger: http://help.robotc.net/WebHelpVEX/index ... ger|_____9

Let us know if either of these resolves the issue for you.
