Post IRBeaconStrength
According to the helpfile on the IR-sensor: the higher the returnvalue of getIRBeaconStrength, the greater the 'strength' of the beacon's signal, and the closer it is to the sensor. Seems logical, right?
But I found out that the closer the beacon is to my IR-sensor, the lower the returnvalue is, so just the other way around. :?

What you say appears to be the case but I have limited experience with this device.

The EV3 documentation also supports your observations
"The relative distance to the beacon. 0 means very close, and 100 means far away. The Proximity will be 100 if the beacon is not detected at all."
