Post RCX and NXT with the same computer?
Hello,

I´m still new with RobotC and using it to make my robotics projects with NXT. I´m finding RobotC pretty goof for NXT(much better than Lejos and NXT-G in my opinion). I was thinking in reactivating my old RCX bricks and use RoboTC to program them. And then i had the following doubts:

Is it possible to use the same copy of RobotC to program both NXT and RCX on the same computer? If yes, how can i do to do so?

I ask this because on the site, it is written that someone should only download ONE of the drivers. I downloaded the NXT driver, because I intended to use RobotC primarly for NXT.

Hi WilsonKeske,

Yes, you can program RCXs and NXTs using the same copy of RobotC. To do this you have to change the platform type that Robotc is programing, its in the option menu. Click Robot in the top menu. then select platform type. There it will list the different platform types to choose from. After selecting the platform you want to program, I suggest turning off RobotC and restarting the application, and it will run in the new platform selected :-).

I think the only one driver was for the NXT's, you can have the RCX one as well. You can install both the NXT and RCX drivers onto your computer. I will see about getting the page changed to be more clear.

Good luck, let me know if you have any more questions :-)
