 Mindsensors Compass problem with 1.3 B4Hi,
I'm using the Mindsensors Compass with the newest version of Robotc 1.3 Beta 4. However, I'm not able to run the demo provided by mindsensors. I'm always getting a I2C error that the device is not ready. If I try under NXT-G, the sensor works. Could it be that something has changed in the way I2C is handled? Anyone else have the same problem? /kurt |

There were some recent changes to fix a bug in handling the slow rise time on signals for long cables. I will look at this today..

I have just tried with 1.35 B1, but the problem stays the same.
This is what I'm getting : Connect to Port 1 Error: Check conn Heading = 0 When debugging, it seems to float around line 112, which is:
If I disconnect the cable it says Read OK instead of Error. I am not using a long cable, a normal 35cm cable. Just to put a bit more "meat to the bone"

This version http://robotc.net/downloads/ROBOTCforMindstorms_136_BETA_1.exe has fixes for I2C. I don't have MindSensors sensors, but this provides robust I2C over long cables with HiTechnic sensors.
Update: I've subsequently found two other bugs that impact BT. The first is that 1.35 and 1.36 had two sets of enum constants to define custom I2C sensors like those from Mindsensors. Unfortunately, only one of these was known to ROBOTC firmware. This is fixed in 1.37 which will be posted later this morning. The second is that support for the new FIRST FTC automatically assigned a servo/motor controller to sensor port S1. This prevented use of this port for regular I2C sensors. The fix for this is easy. Change the "platform type" to "NXT" and not "FTC". |

I have just tested with 1.37B1, and everything works perfectly now (aside from the fact that I'm not getting correct readings, but I probably need to calibrate again)
