You can give yourself access to the custom sensor type by going here:
Robot->Motor and Sensors Setup->Sensor Management
Enable at least "Allow Custom Designed Sensors"
Now in the "Sensors" tab of the "Motor and Sensor Setup" UI, you will see a new entry called "Custom I2C Sensors" with a whole bunch of sub options. For this particular sensor, set it to "I2C Custom"
Now the built-in driver should not start. Also, keep in mind that if you are using the IR Seeker V2, you should be using the HTIRS2-test1.c program, which uses the HTIRS2-driver.h driver file.
