Post What happened to the Datalog window in RobotC 3.X?
I'm trying to use the datalogging capabilites that were documented in examples/forums but the 3.04 version of RobotC does not have the Robot->Debug Windows->Datalog window as an option to view the datalog info. Without this window and considering that the datalog file is in binary format i don't see an easy way to decode it. I saw the other options using the ability to write to the debug stream and nxt2excel but was wondering if the AddToDataLog function has been killed or superceded. No mention in the help docs.

Please advise,

gil.

The "WriteToDatalog" functionality did not pass our testing for 3.x - this was a feature that was a holdover from the RCX-support days.

We recommend users use the File IO functionality in ROBOTC if they wish to datalog and export. I've attached a powerpoint from our classes that explain how this system works.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the tip. Looking forward to the help file getting updated with this info to elimiinate the confusion of reading obsolete documentation.
