Post RobotC vs NXC for an 11 year old
My 11 year old son is reaching the limit of what he can do with the NXG language. What are the pro's and cons of RobotC vs NXC. I have a basic knowledge of C, however I do have a lot of programming experience with Perl and TCL.

I realize that RobotC cost money and that NXC is freeware.

Thanks

Don't know about NXC but RobotC is a hybrid of C and C++. It's not standard. Although it is C, it doesn't support the standard C pointers. Then it added some of the C++ features such as overloading, pass by reference etc. It takes a little time to get use to the differences. But reading the forums here helps a lot.
