Hello, I'm trying to figure out a way to trigger a canon DSLR switch using NXT. I've read up on the connections in the standard canon shutter release cable and it seems a fairly simple setup (http://www.diff.net/peter/photography/c ... info.shtml). But I can't figure out how I'd bridge these connections using NXT.

Reading around on the net it seems many people use light sensor to control other devices (http://thenxtstep.com/smf/index.php?act ... pic=1352.0).

But I'm guessing I shouldn't be sending power from the NXT through my shutter release cable, I just need to form a connection between the various wires. Can anyone guide me on the best way to do this using NXT ?.

I'll code it using RobotC, whilst I'm good on the programming side I'm a complete Electronics novice.

I followed this and now I can trigger many cameras with a very simple solution.
