There are no new unread posts for this topic.   I see there is a marketing release about 4.10 that says "Initial Support for I2C devices with EV3 platform". Is this in reference to the Tetrix controllers? I can't get them to work. (I'm actually using HiTechnic controllers if that is relevent). Please let me know if these are currently being supported, and if they're not, if there is any rough timeline of when they are expected to be supported. (I understand no timeline may exist). There are no new unread posts for this topic.   Recently I upgraded from the pic to the cortex system and am looking for info on what makes the most sense as a basic building platform. In previous years we started with the squarebot 2.0 and added to it with sensors, switches, etc. as the course went on and challenges increased. Looking at the Recbot, Squarebot 4.0, Swervebot and Clawbot all build all the way to completion with sensors, encoders etc all installed at the initial build and all at once. Is there anything out there that shows a... Upgrading from pic to cortex system

The idea behind doing this would be so that I could reuse functions in my user control code and only have to write them once. (I want to control my arms separately as my team is using a scissor lift). Is this possible? Setting a motor with a function parameter-help

While I assume I may do data logging using XBee or others, it will be good for the VEX/IQ to have data logging capability as it was designed for middle schoolers. Middle schoolers do not usually do cross-platform communication and such. We use the openlog from sparkfun with the arduino platform. Advice is always appreciated. datalogging

When i'm sending the data to the mailbox it receives data but more than i expect and it does not seem to be the correct content. If i'm sending an ascii string to the mailbox i should be able to display this on the nxt right? I'm using the following robotc code: in monobrick i'm doing the following: The numbering of mailboxes start from 0 in mono instead of 1... send data from pc to robotc on nxt

There are no new unread posts for this topic.   I bought the video trainer CD a couple years back and due to limited space in the classroom resorted to using a fold-up ping pong table for the students to run their robots on (labyrinth challenge, etc.). However, that has broken and I need a more substantial replacement. When I attended the training class at CMU they had custom built tables made from simple materials, 2x4s, plywood, etc. I recall seeing the plans for such a practice table but cannot locate them now. Apparently the Summer of Learning is for VEX IQ this year. Since I'm affiliated with a HS team we use Cortex not IQ, can you complete 2013 for VEX Cortex and get credit? They pair wonderfully, but the scanner is not read natively by either an EV3 or NXT, so I need to use RawDataMode. The program compiles perfectly fine, but the NXT is not entering RawDataMode as it should. I've followed the examples to the letter, but it does not enter the mode. I used the debugger and sure as nuts it does not exit the while loop that makes the program wait for bBTRawMode. Here is the... Bluecore not entering RawDataMode

There are no new unread posts for this topic.   Bug against RobotC for Vex v4.10 If you drag-and-drop sensorValue[] from the palette into the code, the compiler complains that the first letter should be capitalized (e.g. SensorValue[]). Please fix the palette to supply SensorValue with the correct capitalization. (Or fix the compiler to use the palette's version. I'm not particular, as long as they match.) As you can see here, the text is fuzzy and unoptimized for these resolutions, and it can be pretty annoying. I'm using the latest version of Windows 8.1. Thanks and goodbye. Basically I'm trying to control a Lego Technic 9398 with a NXT brick I mounted in the back. The truck in question: It comes with 3 motors: 2 power functions 88003 M-motors, and 1 88004 servo motor. Now I cannot send a file to the Cortex. After RobotC launches, I select VEX 2.0 from the Platform type. I then select USB ONLY from the Communications Type. I Manually update Master CPU firmware to 4.22. I get FIRMWARE FOR VEX CORTEX MASTER CPU WAS DOWNLOADED SUCCESSFULLY Then I update the RobotC firmware to 1008. I get ROBOTC FIRMWARE DOWNLOAD WAS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY I... RobotC 4 crash

The cause of the issue lies in the Casper library, which is used to communicate with the brick. There is a work-around for this issue. My first problem is that my school doesn't allow me to update ROBOTC past 3.08 so I can't find any drivers that would allow me to use an IR receiver. The receiver i have is just from radio shack with a standard data/ground/VCC pin-out which i believe is the same as the the cortex takes in (white/red/black extender thing) I'm trying to build a set of laser guns that have both IR receivers and IR LEDs. In the past, we have successfully used Victor speed controllers with the VEX signal splitters and PIC with base software. We are trying to use Jaguar speed controllers on this robot. They seem to work except for we seem to have a stuttering problem which gets worse depending upon how many motors are being directed to run. I know the PWM timing specs are different... Using FRC motor controllers with PIC?

When you Open the sample programs for Graphical Natural Language, all the data fields are blank, you can not fill them in. Note this only happens if the IQ brain is NOT connected to your computer. If your IQ is connected an on everything works and the data fields have data I.E. port1. Graphical Natural Language bug

There are no new unread posts for this topic.   Our team recently downloaded RobotC 4.08 for vex cortex (we had been running v4.06), and we have noticed a reoccuring issue with our driver control. We have a function that records if you have pressed a button so that you can press it once and it activates something, but if you press it again, it deactivates it. However, when we run the program now, sometimes the function doesn't activate when the button is initially pressed or it doesn't deavtivate when pressed again. We have not changed this... Driver Control Problem - maybe firmware related?

The website works fine when uploading the binary output from PROS. I want the website to support RobotC as well, but where does ROBOTC output the compiled binary??
