Get started with the Robot Virtual Worlds (PDF)
ROBOTC's new Robot Virtual Worlds simulation software allows programmers to test their robots in a simulation environment before they test the code on their real robots.

*requires an installed version of ROBOTC
And everyone gets their own robot! |

Pictured at the left you find the Robot Virtual World classroom programming environment. Programmers select their challenges on the left side of the interface
Once the challenge is selected a description of the challenge shows up on the right side of the page. Most of the challenges come directly from the ROBOTC Curriculum. See example challenges below. |
|
Robot Challenges include simple challenges like the ones shown above, but also have more complicated path planning challenges like the ones show here. At the left is a challenge called the Grand Challenge which involves navigating your robot through a building like structure. The board above shows the challenge without the building. Below is another multifaceted programming challenge designed to test a students programming ability. FTC and VEX Challenges are available as free downloads when you purchase the Robot Virtual World software. This will allow the programming team to begin to develop code before the robot is completed! |

Operation Reset |

Explore and restart the mysterious planet known as Alpha base H99, a robotic crystal mining colony. The colony was abandoned a few months ago, after a meteor shower.
The existing crew left the planet; they shut down all the communication towers leaving them without any charge. Your task is to recharge all of them; you will receive a set of directives as you go from tower to tower. Fuel up a rocket ship, collect a crystal pack for experimentation and evacuate the planet before another disaster strikes. The last crew left some maps, read and follow instructions carefully to complete the mission.
You can choose between two different rover models. The compact BuggyBot and a bigger, faster MammalBot.

2011-2012 FTC Competition Table (version 1.03) |
|
![]() |
Practice programming an FTC robot on this year's FTC Competition table. NOTE - In order to reduce the computer system requirements needed to run the RVW challenge the FTC Bowled Over Simulation Table does not include the 100 balls included in the real challenge. Many schools will not have computers capable of simulating that many objects at once in the RVW and so we decided to not include them.
We're interested in feedback from the FTC teams using the new RVW software. We plan to update the FTC RVW board in a few weeks, so send us your suggestions to the Robot Virtual Worlds forum.

VEX Gateway Challenge now available! Navigate your VEX robot through this year's VEX Robotics Competition: VEX Gateway. VEX Challenges are on a 12x12 square field and this year consists of gates and balls that you must place within the scoring columns.
We're interested in feedback from the VEX teams using the new RVW software. We plan to update the VEX RVW board in a few weeks, so send us your suggestions to the Robot Virtual Worlds forum.
