Posted by Xander Soldaat on Saturday, May 1st, 2010 | No Comments

Mike Barnkob posted a really nice project on the ROBOTC forums;  a liquid handling robot.  I am sure you’ve seen them on most CSI shows; not like this one, however.  As you can see from the picture, it’s a fairly large …

“Teemune” from the forums contributed this cool robot participating in a competition. The robot collects cans in a checkered board. Here’s a description of the competition:

VEX Robot Forklift

Posted by Vu Nguyen on Monday, March 1st, 2010 | No Comments

I came across this and thought it was neat. It’s a Forklift made with VEX parts. You can see that it is actually modeled after a real forklift and behaves just like a real one. It goes to pick up a Rubic’s cube. Nice work!

“So I was tinkering around with a bunch of mechanisms, and before I knew it I was into another project and it kept getting bigger and bigger. Take Omnibot, throw in some Kismet with some Lego Lips, and this is what you get.”

The Domino Printer aka Dominobot

Posted by Vu Nguyen on Thursday, February 25th, 2010 | No Comments

Now here’s a great robot that actually prints words using dominoes. You’ll have to see the video to get the full effect, but here’s the description:

“A Lego NXT robot that uses one Lego NXT, three servos, the HiTechnic IRLink sensor and 8 medium PF motors with receivers to lay dominoes to spell a message.”

Mindstorms Power Scope

This article first appeared here.

Mindsensors was kind of enough to send me one of their prototype sensors, the Power Meter, to play with.  It’s a sensor that allows you to measure, among other things, the current and voltage of anything you care to connect to it (within limits, …
